Carr Manor has a high ratio of carers to children, allowing us to give personal attention to our smallest children.
At Carr Manor, we work closely with parents to determine the point at which each child will move to a toddler room.
As with the move from baby to toddler rooms, there is no set age for children to join our nursery pre-school group.
Our breakfast and after school clubs start as soon as your child is dropped off or when we collect them from school.
We understand how expensive it is to raise children and we aim to help parents as much as possible when it comes to enjoying affordable day care.
30 hours free childcare per week
If you’re a working parent, you may be eligible for up to 30 hours FREE childcare per week for your 3 and 4 your old from 1st September. Don’t miss out, leave your details below or call 01772 888 066 and a member of the Carr Manor team will be in touch to guide you through the process.
For families with more than one child attending Carr Manor Nursery, for more than three days/six sessions a week, we offer a 10% discount off the eldest child’s place.
If you recommend a friend to Carr Manor Nursery who then signs up their child, you will receive £50 off your nursery fees. Please contact the nursery for full terms and conditions.
Childcare vouchers help working parents with the cost of nursery and are a tax efficient means of funding fees. Under the scheme, each parent can opt to receive up to £243 a month from their employer as a tax-free childcare voucher. In a two-parent family, this equates to £5,382 a year, and offers savings of £1,866 over the course of the year. These are an employer supported benefit currently, which means you can only obtain the vouchers if your employer currently runs a childcare voucher scheme, or is prepared to do so as part of a ‘salary sacrifice’ package.
Childcare Element of Working Tax Credits
Parents may also find that they are eligible to receive government help with childcare costs through the Working Tax Credit System. The amount you would receive if eligible depends on your circumstances, but you must be in paid employment for at least 16 hours per week. The credit can cover as much as 70% of your childcare costs, so it is well worth investigating. You can find out more online: https://www.gov.uk/help-with-childcare-costs/tax-credits
New Deal for Lone Parents
If you are a lone parent and currently out of work, there is help available through a voluntary programme that offers support towards a secure future, for both you and your children. This scheme applies if you are working fewer than 16 hours a week. You can find out more about this scheme through the JobCentre Plus Office.
If you are aged over 20 and studying at college, ask the student support or welfare officer about the Discretionary Learner Fund, which exists to cover a range of costs including childcare. Ask about the Care to Learn Scheme – you can also call the Learner Support Helpline on 0800 1218989. This scheme will offer up to £160 a week per child to cover both travel to and from nursery and care costs themselves.

What are your opening times?
Carr Manor is open from 7.30am until 6.00pm. Should you arrive any earlier we request you wait with your child until rooms are set up and staff are available. If for any reason you are going to be delayed collecting your child, we ask that you notify the nursery as soon as possible.
Do you offer a sibling discount?
Yes we do. Providing both your children attend a minimum of 3 full days (six sessions) per week, 10% is deducted off your eldest childs invoice.
Are you open all year round?
Nursery is open 51 weeks of the year. We do charge for Bank Holidays, however we will offer you an alternative session when ever possible and subject to availability.
When do we have to pay?
Ideally, the first day of the month your child attends. Payments can be made by cash, credit or debit card, in person or over the phone. Should you choose to pay weekly on the first day your child attends, we ask that you pay by cash only.
Do you close at Christmas?
Yes we do. We will let you know the details nearer the time. However, we usually close on Christmas Eve and do not open again until the New Year. You will not be charged any fees during this period.
What is the settling in procedure?
We will arrange visits to the nursery in the weeks prior to your start date to ensure that your child settles in comfortably. On your first visit, we request that you stay for an hour to complete any necessary paperwork and familiarize yourself with the setting and the staff. Further visits at a time and date to suit you can then be arranged.
Do we need to provide any food?
Only formula milk. All babies and children are provided with nutritious, freshly prepared meals as soon as they are ready to be weaned.
Who provides nappies?
We do not supply nappies, however, we do supply fragrance-free baby wipes, cotton wool and nappy sacks.
