Welcome to Carr Manor Nursery

In welcoming you and your child to Carr Manor, my staff and I feel it is essential to let you know what your child will be doing during his/her stay with us.

Every day in nursery is carefully planned to ensure your child receives the best learning opportunities in a safe, fun and caring environment whilst ensuring we meet the needs of individuals.Your child will develop skills such as speaking, listening and persistence, as well as early reading, writing and numbers. This will give them the best chance of achieving the Early Learning Goals by the end of their first year in primary school and help ensure they experience the best possible start to their education.

Our nurseries and individual rooms are well resourced, fun, bright and attractive to children with designated areas for active play, eating, sleeping and quiet times. Our equipment, furniture and facilities are specifically designed for children, from tables and chairs to toilets and wash hand basins.

Once your place is booked but before your child starts nursery, we will offer you and your child the opportunity to attend "settling in sessions". This experience is invaluable and will enable Carr Manor staff to begin to build important relationships with you.

At Carr Manor Nursery we try to make the transition from home to nursery  as easy as possible. By building good relationships with parents and carers we hope to include them in all aspects of their child's daily routine. This gives parents and carers the opportunity to stay with their child for periods of time to witness them settling in and to get to know their child's key worker. This is an opportunity to share information regarding home routines, likes and dislikes, dietary requirements and any additional needs. Good communication between staff and parents is vital, as it will enable Carr Manor staff to provide full reports on the progress your child is making and answer any questions you may have.

Notice boards around the nursery contain specific information for each room and the activities, planning or events taking place. Please feel free to speak to any member of staff  regarding the nursery.

Our carefully structured early year's curriculum will enable children to develop their learning, building on what they can already do. Your child's day will be carefully planned and all activities are prepared appropriate to each age group. Most of all we want your child to be happy. To this end the aim of the nursery is to create a pleasant and secure foundation for your child's social and educational development. We will do all we can to ensure that all children feel included, secure and valued and that children, parents and staff can work together in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

If you have any problems at all, my management team will be happy to discuss them with you at a mutually convenient time.
